Jackie was the first to identify the cause of a problem with my toe. This led to a doctors appointment, which led to an x-ray, which led to a consultant, which led to minor surgery. A friend recommended Blackhall Podiatry to me after I had a few minor problems with my feet. Since then I have been very pleased with the care I have received from Jackie and her team. However, I have more to thank Jackie for than trouble free feet. Jackie spotted a mole on my ankle which she suggested I should have looked at. When I returned for my next visit and I had done nothing, Jackie was quite insistent and offered to write to my GP. A few weeks later, after a GP visit, a referral to dermatology and a biopsy, I was having a malignant melanoma removed. Fortunately it had been caught at a very early stage and I have had several clear check ups since. I often think how fortunate I was that Jackie paid such attention to detail.

"Before I started coming to Blackhall Podiatry and Chiropody, I used to dread going to the Chiropodist. It was actually painful having my nails trimmed, as the nails were quite thick. Only clippers were used and the entire procedure was rushed. I felt as though I was on a conveyor belt. Now I actually look forward to my Chiropody appointments. A more gentle technique to cut nails is used. It is an electrical tool that spays cool water on the nails at the same time. It all feels soothing and completely without pain. "The clinic extends a warm and friendly welcome to patients, even to the extent of offering a cup of coffee on arrival! Treatment is invariably of a high professional standard including advice on other related medical matters. This, in my case, involved a small crusty spot on the upper part of a foot, which Mrs. Johnston advised should be seen by a dermatologist. Until then, this had been thought to be nothing to merit treatment, but in fact did prove to be a cancerous spot, which was removed by a skin specialist.
